He tore down the wall

~By Emma Elstadt

A few days ago, we had our weekly gathering of Kingdom School. We had this real cool teaching about trust in our power session and how we should be living. And as I was listening to the teaching, something the pastor said grabbed me. I looked up and saw Ephesians 2:1-8 on the screen, but he only quoted this part, “You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live.”

I was so blown away by that verse, for a moment, I thought he was talking to me. Even though I know right from wrong and good from bad, I sometimes struggle with it. Knowing that what I’m going to do isn’t right, not necessarily bad, but still doing it. Twisting the truth to convince myself that it’s okay. Nothing is okay about that. I wrote down Ephesians 2 in my notes so that I could read the whole chapter at home, because I did not have my Bible with me at the time.

When I read the whole chapter in bed that night, I realized how little time I spend on the Word of God. My dad always compares the time you spend on social media or working or basically anything, with the time you read and study the Bible, imagine, if you take that time and concentrate on the Word of God, the knowledge we will receive. The following is my understanding on Ephesians 2, and honestly, if I read the whole Bible, I don’t think I could grasp what I would learn.

We all lived an empty life before. Doing only what we felt like doing, whenever we want to. Yet, God embraced us. He never turned away and gave up on us. With His amazing grace and unfathomable love, He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He picked up our fragile hearts and sat us down in the highest heaven in company with Jesus Christ. It was all His idea. He saved us. But somehow, we, as people of this world, do not trust Him enough to do so. But that’s God’s greatest gift to us. Salvation.

Christ brought us together through His death on the cross. He brought peace to both the sinners and the saints. And through Him, we share the same Spirit and equal access to the Father.

God is building His divine Kingdom right now. Our Home. And He’s using all of us, despite what we have done, or how we got here, in what He is building. All that we have to do is trust in Him. Let Him do what He must in order for us to live a life we don’t necessarily deserve, but a life we need with Christ as the cornerstone that holds us together as one.

Do not just familiarize yourself with The Bible and the teaching it gives. Spend more time with God through His Word.

We can attain wisdom far beyond our reasoning.
