As we grow older, we become wiser. We get hurt and we learn from our mistakes. But our mistakes don’t define who we are. How we learn to deal with our mistakes, do. It ultimately tells us a lot about our character. But sometimes it’s hard to cope with it all, and we can’t always deal with everything.
We are burdened with the tought that we should change ourselves as a whole to be accepted by others and by God But the Truth is that God actually wants us to come as we are.
We will never be able to change ourselves into being acceptable to God. There will always be just one more thing to change, one more thing to lay down. But the beauty of it, is that God does not expect us to change ourselves. He wants to do the changing for us.
The Bible says that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. While we were still enemies of God, with our backs turned to Him. While we still had nothing to offer Him. THEN He loved us, died for us, and invited us into relationship with Him.
Don’t wait until you are perfect or even a better person than you are now. Take all your sin, your burdens, your worries and run to God. He wants to help you change. He wants to take your burdens. He wants to set you free and give you rest.
Well, what are you waiting for? God is ready to accept you, arms open wide.
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.'”
