“Raise up Warriors, Lord, that will fight on their knees, who will worship You with their whole hearts” – Miss Clara prays in the movie War Room. And she is just such a warrior; a lady wholeheartedly dedicated to her God and seeking Him above all else in her life and through prayer.
Elizabeth Jordan, a well-to-do Real Estate Agent seems to have it all together, but her marriage is failing and she goes through the motions of life without joy. She meets Miss Clara while marketing her house. Miss Clara having her eyes wide open for someone to invest in, invites her over again and shows Elizabeth her favourite room; her prayer closet. Her own personal war room. With some trepidation Elizabeth embarks on a journey to learn about prayer, about putting God first, and about fighting for (and not against) her family.
Meanwhile Tony Jordan is on his own battlefield, facing temptation and job insecurity. With no one to look to for guidance he makes decisions in his own interest and reaps the rewards thereof. But as Elizabeth keeps praying for him, things start to change and his eyes start opening to what is really important in life.
This movie inspires! Wow, when it was over I was more than ready to grab a notebook, jot down Scriptures for my family and start petitioning Heaven. I was just in need of a walk-in closet to dub as my personal war room.
I loved watching this movie. Miss Clara is a fresh breath and she speaks the truth, straight, without qualms. There are quite a few quotes of her that made me pause and think about my own life and where I’m at. The Jordan family is a typical family with problems we can all relate to. There were moments that made me smile and moments that brought tears to my eyes. And God triumphs in the end. What more would you want from a movie? 🙂
Prayer changes things. The challenge is open. Will we take it up and start our own “War Rooms”? Who knows what will happen if everyone who watches this movie starts applying the same principles.
But don’t take my word for it. Watch it for yourself and see how God moves your heart…
“…if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. ~ 2 Chron 7:14
